Air Canada and Chase Launch New Credit Card for U.S. Market

Air Canada and Chase the launch of a credit card for members of the airline’s Aeroplan frequent-flyer program located in the United States.

The U.S. card will launch later this year and the Aeroplan program will become a transfer in the Chase Ultimate Rewards program at the same time.

The announcement follows the launch of a completely overhauled Aeroplan program that offers its members award flights with 35 airlines.

Air Canada hopes to reach what it termed “two million U.S. residents with strong ties on both sides of the border” with the new offering.

Chase said it will offer what it referred to as “innovative perks and flexible rewards” to holders of the new card.

In concert with the launch of the new Aeroplan credit card in the United States, Mastercard will become the exclusive payment network for it.
