Canadian low-cost carrier WestJet previewed its new flagship lounge, the WestJet Elevation Lounge, located at its hub at Calgary International Airport.

The 9,300-square-foot (864-square-meter) facility was designed by the New York-based architecture and design firm Gensler and melds a contemporary look with influences from Canada’s varied landscape, which ranges from majestic mountains, rolling plains, forested valleys, to beautiful blue rivers and lakes.

The lounge opens to the public next Monday and is located in Concourse B in the Domestic Terminal.  It is accessible to travelers departing from Concourses A, B, and C in that terminal as well as from Concourse D in the International Terminal.

The Elevation Lounge is opening with the coronavirus pandemic in mind, with reduced capacity, self-serve entry, mandatory face masks except when eating or drinking, and the ability for travelers to order food and drink via a smartphone app.  Amenities include hand-sanitizer stations.

Guests can order from a menu that uses local and seasonal ingredients including coffee from Calgary-based Fratello Coffee Roasters and beer from the Dandy Brewing Company, also a Calgary company.

The WestJet Elevation Lounge is open to business-class travelers and WestJet Rewards members with top elite status.
