A passenger on a Delta Air Lines flight from Miami to Atlanta Monday struck a flight attendant after the passenger was told to wear her face mask correctly.

The passenger was wearing the mask around her neck.  All U.S. airlines require masks to cover both the nose and mouth.

In a video posted by a passenger, Lauryn England, on Instagram, the passenger can be seen striking the flight attendant with enough force as to push her back.

In a video posted by BBC journalist Suzanne Kanpour  on Twitter but taken by another passenger, a third passenger can be heard screaming, “Hey, you can’t be hitting a flight attendant” to the unruly passenger.

“Here’s what happened on our Delta flight from Miami to Atlanta tonight after a passenger refused to wear a mask as per policy and then gets into altercation with flight attendant,” Kianpour said on Twitter.

In a statement, Delta said that two passengers were removed from the aircraft for refusing to follow flight attendant instructions.

An official at the Miami-Dade Police Department said that no arrests were made.
