Southwest Airlines said Tuesday that it would continue to block middle seats on its flights through the end of September.

The airline emphasized “comfort, cleanliness, and distance” in making the announcement.

“We’re giving customers peace of mind with our Southwest Promise that requires face coverings for everyone traveling with us, middle seats open through at least September 30, and enhanced cleaning of our cabins and airport spaces,” said Bill Tierney, the airline’s vice president of marketing.

In addition to the announcement about middle seats, Southwest also announced a fare sale with ticket prices as low as $49 one way.
