Hyatt Hotels announced a new collaboration with the Cleveland Clinic as it reopens properties around the world amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

Hyatt Hotels had announced its Global Care & Cleanliness Commitment, a multi-pronged approach that will include accreditation, new cleaning and disinfection procedures, and a new employee position at each property to ensure compliance, in late April.

The hotel chain wants to “proudly and confidently welcome back guests,” said its CEO, Mark Hoplamazian.

Experts from the Cleveland will help “fine-tune” how hotels reopen and operating procedures once they are hosting guests including the creation of cleaning and safety protocols.

As part of its efforts, the hotelier will declutter guestrooms and remove unnecessary high-touch items.

In addition, Hyatt will, at some of its properties, offer a variety of private dining options, from a rooftop garden to a private suite.  Other new offerings will include individualized buffet-style service table side and new menuing options.

The Chicago-based hotel chain will also add what it called “enhanced digital amenities” through the World of Hyatt app that will allow guests to schedule housekeeping, order touchless room service, unlock the guest room door, and check in and out.
