JetBlue Airways announced the JetBlue Healthcare Hero program.

The Healthcare Hero program will give 100,000 healthcare workers in New York City a complimentary pair of round-trip tickets for flights in the form of certificates good to any destination offered by the airline.

The New York-based airline will also honor healthcare workers on Thursday with a low-altitude flyover of three aircraft with special, New York-themed liveries, including two that honor members of the Fire Department of New York and the New York Police Department.

JetBlue is starting off the program by giving the first 10,000 certificates to healthcare workers at the Mount Sinai Health System and the New York City Health and Hospitals Corp.

Anyone can nominate their healthcare heroes to win tickets.  Qualifying workers include doctors nurses, pharmacists, therapists, social workers, and hospital administrators.
