Lawmakers announced a deal with the White House on Tuesday to pass a $484 billion relief bill that provides additional funding to a small-business loan program and additional support and funding to hospitals and coronavirus testing programs.

The bill provides for $310 billion to replenish the Paycheck Protection Program, which was created by the stimulus law and offers guarantees for forgivable loans to small businesses if a majority of the money is used to retain employees

The measure requires the White House to create a nationwide coronavirus testing program and will steer more money to the small business loan program than originally discussed.

The Senate, which is in recess, is expected to pass the bill without a formal vote and it will move to the House for a vote on Thursday.  President Trump is expected to sign the measure immediately after it passes the House.
