a-1InterContinental Hotels Group announced it will mark Veterans Day, National Veterans and Military Families Month, and the tenth anniversary of its IHG Army Hotels unit by awarding one million IHG Rewards Club points in a contest designed to recognize members of the military for their service.

The hotelier is inviting people enter the contest by nominating a service member who has been important in their lives and submitting it on Instagram.  Entering the contest requires the entrant to follow @IHGArmyHotels, post a photo and caption of the individual being recognized, tag the photo with the Instagram handle, and include the hashtags #sweepstakes, #ihgah10, and #hospitalityforheroes on the post.  Submissions may also be made via mail.

IHG formed IHG Army Hotels ten years ago after being awarded a 25-year management contract for on-post lodgings as part of  the Privatization of Army Lodging program.  It operates 76 hotels with approximately 11,600 rooms located on Army bases in the United States.

In addition to operating Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, and Candlewood Suites hotels, IHG Army Hotels also operates the Historia Collection, a grouping of hotels that are in historically significant Army buildings on post.
