Delta Posts Increase in Traffic and Capacity for October

DSC_0157Delta Air Lines announced operational results for October 2019.

The airline carried 17.5 million passengers in the month, a record for the month of October.

The Atlanta-based carrier’s total system traffic for the month was 19.76 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a 5.2% increase from 18.78 billion RPMs in October 2018. Domestic traffic rose 6.9%, and international traffic was up by 3.4%.

Total system-wide capacity for the month rose to 23.09 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 21.96 billion ASMs, a 5.1% increase. The airline’s domestic capacity was up 5.2%, while international capacity increased by 3.6%.

The airline’s load factor for the month was 85.6%, an increase of 0.1 percentage points from 85.5% in October 2018.
