Spirit Orders 100 Airbus A320 Family Aircraft

Spirit Airlines announced an order for 100 new Airbus A320neo family aircraft.
The memorandum of understanding with Airbus includes a mix of Airbus A319, A320, and A321 models, with an option for 50 additional aircraft.
Spirit plans to use the new planes to support the expansion of its route network within the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
The airline currently operates an all-Airbus fleet of 138 A319, A320, and A321 aircraft. It expects an additional seven A320neo aircraft by the end of 2019 and will take delivery of 48 A320neo aircraft in 2020 and 2021.
