Newark Liberty International Airport broke ground Tuesday on the construction of a consolidated rental-car facility.

Dubbed ConRAC, for Consolidated Rent-A-Car, the new building will house ten rental-car brands under one roof.  The new facility will be adjacent to the new Terminal One, which will replace the existing Terminal A and be fully open by 2022.

Facilities at the $500 million project will include 15 car wash stations and 54 refueling positions as well as multiple service bays and vacuum stations.

When it opens, the $2.7 billion Terminal One will be managed and operated by EWR Terminal One LLC, a subsidiary of Munich Airport International.
