Kempinski to Open New Resort in Dominica
Kempinski Hotels announced plans for a new hotel in Dominica, an island that is part of the Windward Islands in the Lesser Antilles archipelago in the Caribbean Sea.
Located in Cabrits National Park, the Cabrits Resort & Spa Kempinski is Kempinski’s second in the Caribbean and will open its doors to guests on October 14, 2019.
The 151-key resort features rooms decorated in earth tones with accents that reflect the water and beach. Guests have a selection of room types and views that include ocean and mountain views, and standard rooms, two-bedroom duplexes, and villas. The Presidential Villa offers ocean views, butler service, two bedrooms, a private spa with sauna, and an outdoor terrace with a private pool.
Dining options for guests include four establishments on property. Cabrits Market is designed to recollect a Creole Market and offers a variety of international dishes. The Kweyol Beach Café is located on the beach and offers traditional Creole entrées as well as homemade coconut ice cream. Bonsai offers a variety of Asian dishes including sushi, satays, and Thai curry. Finally, the Rumfire bar offers sunset views and a variety of Caribbean rums and spirits.
The hotel has over 8,000 square feet (743 square meters) of meeting and event space including beach, pool, and lawn venues. An outdoor amphitheater is also available for private events.
