ExpressJet Appoints New CIO
United Express carrier ExpressJet Airlines announced the appointment of Jonyt Meyer as chief information officer, a role that had been effectively outsourced to former parent company SkyWest after its acquisition of ExpressJet in 2010.
Meyer is charged with leading the development of a new IT infrastructure at the airline to support its planned growth, following its acquisition earlier this year by ManaAir.
“Jonyt is an accomplished and visionary IT leader,” said John Varley, the airline’s chief administrative officer. “We are glad he has chosen to rejoin the ExpressJet team.”
He returns to ExpressJet after a nine-year absence, having started in 1990 as a crew schedule. Meyer held a variety of positions at the airline, most recently chief information office, before he left in 2011.
