Delta Sees Modest Increase in Traffic and Capacity for February

IMG_5488(2)Delta Air Lines announced operational results for February 2019. The airline carried 13.3 million passengers in the month, a record for the month of February.

The Atlanta-based carrier’s total system traffic for the month was 15.11 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 2.9 %, up from 14.69 billion in February 2018. Domestic traffic rose 3%, while international traffic rose 2.7%.

Total system-wide capacity for the month increased, up 3.4% to 18.65 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 18.03 billion last year. The airline’s domestic capacity was up 3.3%, while international capacity rose by 3.6%.

The airline reported a system-wide load factor of 81.1%, down 0.4 percentage points from 81.5% a year ago.
