United Airlines to Offer Free Live TV
United Airlines announced it is adding complimentary free live television viewing on two-thirds of its Boeing 737 fleet.
Over 100 channels of programming will be available on 211 Boeing 737 aircraft that have seat back TV, which translates into over 30,000 seats.
In addition to the live programming, the in-flight entertainment system offers hundreds of movies and TV reruns via a passenger’s smartphone, laptop, or tablet.
The live TV offering is not the only improvement the Chicago-based airline is planning.
“This year, we will be introducing a series of innovations and improvements designed to help build a great experience for all our customers,” said Toby Envies, the airline’s chief customer officer, although he did not go into detail as to what the other announcements will entail.
