As the year 2018 comes to a close, it’s time to look at some of the most popular news stories and features of the year.

The big news over the past year was the opening of the first new terminal at the renovated LaGuardia Airport, the integration of flight attendant groups at both United Airlines (which had merged with Continental Airlines in 2010) and American Airlines (which merged with US Airways in 2013) on the same day, and the disappearance of the Virgin America brand following that airline’s 2016 merger with Alaska Airlines.

Our tips on etiquette in Europe made the cut as did a thoughtful look at a darker part of history, the 80th anniversary of the Kristallnacht pogrom in Germany and Austria.

From posh hotels in London to a look at the how airlines are clamping down on fake service and emotional support animals, here are the most read news stories and features in 2018 from the pages of Frequent Business Traveler magazine.
