Delta Sees Increase in Traffic and Capacity for October

DSC_5025Delta Air Lines announced operational results for October 2018. The airline carried 16.5 million passengers in the month, a record for the month of October.

The Atlanta-based carrier’s total system traffic for the month was 18.78 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 2.7%, up from 18.29 billion in October 2017. Domestic traffic rose 3.2%, while international traffic rose 1.6%.

Total system-wide capacity for the month also increased, up 3.2% to 21.97 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 21.28 billion last year. The airline’s domestic capacity was up 4.7%, while international capacity rose by 0.8%.

The airline reported a system-wide load factor of 85.5%, a year-over-year drop of 0.5 percentage points from 86% last year.
