United Airlines announced the appointment of former White House press secretary Josh Earnest to the position of chief communications officer and senior vice president at the airline.
Earnest will play “a crucial role on our leadership team as we position our brand and this company for success,” said Oscar Munoz, the airline’s CEO.
After serving in the White House, Earnest worked as a political analyst at NBC and MSNBC.
He will be charged with “developing the company’s global communications strategy, leading a world-class team to execute it, working closely with the company’s leadership to shape the airline’s public image and serving as the company’s chief spokesman,” the airline said.
