The move is part of Hilton’s commitment to halve its environmental footprint by 2030, as well as double its social impact investment by that same year.

Other goals that the hotelier is aiming for include: reducing carbon intensity emissions by 61%; cutting water consumption and reducing waste by 50% as well as expanding existing soap recycling programs to all its hotels.

Hilton said it will also double the amount it spends with local and small minority-owned businesses, double its investment in opportunity programs for women and youth, contribute ten million volunteer hours, and double monetary support for natural disaster relief efforts.
