IMG_4341Alaska Airlines said Friday it plans to introduce a new first-class cabin beginning at the end of the year.

The new well-cushioned seats will start to appear in the fall and feature a footrest and tablet holder. First-class passengers will also be provided a quilted throw and an individual tablet computer for in-flight entertainment.

In addition to the new seats, the airline is adding new tableware that will include Schönwald china inspired by Virgin America.

The Seattle-based airline said it plans to have half of its mainline fleet equipped with the new cabins and seats by the end of 2019. Earlier on Friday, Alaska said it had started to offer new in-flight dining options for first-class passengers.
