Marriott to Open Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, in Tasmania

Marriott Hotels and Resorts announced that it will open a new Luxury Collection property in Tasmania.

The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart will be the first of the brand’s properties located on the island.

The hotel will be located in various heritage buildings, including St. Mary’s Hospital, a Georgian-style structure originally built in 1847. The property will have 128 guestrooms and suites, many with restored features including original windows, fireplaces, and floorboards.

Guests will be able to access the hotel’s on-site restaurant, lobby lounge, and whiskey bar.
