DSC_0370 (1)Marriott Hotels and Resorts announced the opening of the dual-branded Le Méridien Denver Downtown and AC Hotel by Marriott Denver Downtown in Colorado. The two hotels, although separate, are housed in the same 20-story building and share certain facilities including restaurants.

The AC property has 223 guestrooms, and is the first of the brand’s hotels to open in Denver. The hotel is designed to feel like a modern ski lodge, with design elements including peaked roofs, chiseled stone, and warm woods.

The AC by Marriott brand was launched as a joint venture between Marriott International and AC Hotels, a Spanish group, in 2011. According to the two hoteliers, it was inspired by the runways and fashion houses of Milan. Currently, the brand has properties in Spain, Italy, Portugal, and France, making the Denver property the first U.S. outpost.

The Le Méridien Denver Downtown houses 272 guestrooms and suites, each designed with colors inspired by Denver’s blue skies and green aspens. The hotel has over 12,000 square feet (1,114 square meters) of meeting and event space, including a 5,700-square-foot (529-square-meter) ballroom.

Dining options at the dual-branded property include 54thirty, a seasonal rooftop bar; Corinne, which offers classic American fare; and the Lobbyist, a cocktail lounge.
