United Airlines Reports Increase in Traffic and Capacity for July
United Airlines announced operational results for July 2017.
The carrier’s consolidated traffic and capacity were up year-over-year, while its load factor dropped slightly.
Total traffic for the Chicago-based airline during the month of July was 21.5 billion RPMs, or revenue passenger miles, an increase of 3.9% from 20.7 billion RPMs in July 2016. The carrier’s total capacity for the month was up 4.6% to 24.8 billion ASMs, or available seat miles, from 23.7 billion ASMs last July.
Meanwhile, United’s consolidated load factor was down 0.6 percentage points to 86.9% from 87.5% in July 2016.
United reported a 7.1% increase in domestic traffic on a 7.6% increase in capacity while there was no change in international traffic on a 1.1% increase in international capacity.
