Another flatscreen TV faced the bed and allowed enjoying some entertainment while resting shortly after my arrival. Contributing to the convenience was the comfortable bed with its soft mattress and fine bedsheets.

Shower amenities were neatly arranged on the bathroom’s granite countertop. Fresh flowers, in a vase, and a large backlit mirror behind them made the bathroom a pleasure to use.

ROAD WARRIOR SUPPORT

A desk in the living area was nestled in the corner, and was paired with a chair that, while not ergonomic, was adequate for sitting in while engaged in long stretches of work. The desk was adequately sized and offered a tabletop lamp and convenient outlets on the desktop. Internet service was complimentary and fast.

The property also provides 28,000 square feet (2,601 square meters) of meeting and event space, including a vast ballroom and 15 function rooms. The 5,123-square-foot (475-square-meter) ballroom is well appointed and can accommodate as many as 750 guests.

WELLNESS

The Fairmont Olympic has a large pool and hot tub, stylishly housed in a glass-roof atrium. I enjoyed a swim in the hot tub during my weekend at the hotel – I say swim because the tub was, quite literally, large enough to swim in, not merely soak.

The hotel’s fitness center is located directly next to the pool area, and offers a variety of equipment, including machines, free weights, and ellipticals and bikes. Complimentary bananas were provided for guests working out.
