IMG_9193 (1)Air Berlin announced Friday a “co-operation agreement” with JetBlue.

The partnership between the two carriers will enable passengers to book flights to the United States on Air Berlin as well as connecting flights to 31 JetBlue destinations. The agreement will go into effect on September 12, 2017 for Air Berlin flights to and from New York’s John F. Kennedy International, Boston Logan International, and Orlando International airports.

The two carriers plan to expand their new relationship in the coming months, said Götz Ahmelmann, Air Berlin’s chief commercial officer, in a statement. This will eventually include both airlines’ frequent flyer programs as well.

Air Berlin passengers will be able to select from destinations including Atlanta, Bermuda, Boston, Buffalo, Charleston, Denver, Orlando, Philadelphia, Raleigh/Durham, Santo Domingo, and San Francisco.

American Airlines ended its codeshare agreement with Air Berlin in March of this year, although the two carriers continue to have an interline agreement in place.
