Aeroplan, Avis Begin New Partnership

LDSC_0517oyalty program operator Aeroplan announced a new partnership with Avis.

Aeroplan is Air Canada’s frequent flyer program that was spun off a decade ago into a separate company that now provides loyalty programs for multiple concerns.

Under the terms of the new agreement, Aeroplan members will be able to earn and redeem miles when doing business with Avis and Budget Car Rental. The agreement will be expanded to include Payless Car Rental in the near future.

Members will earn 500 Aeroplan Miles for each eligible car rental at airport locations, and 250 miles for eligible rentals at local branches.

In addition, members will be able to redeem Aeroplan miles for car rentals at Avis and Budget, starting at 5,000 miles for any date and destination in Canada, the United States, and Europe, as well as locations in Australia, new Zealand, and Latin America. Members will also earn a 250-mile rebate when they redeem miles for a car rental.

Aeroplan members will also have the option to use their miles to obtain Avis or Budget rental certificates in the amount of $50 or $100.

In celebration of the new partnership, Aeroplan is offering members the opportunity to earn up to 3,500 bonus miles when renting from Avis and up to 1,500 when renting from Budget through June 30.
