Delta to Serve Free Meals in Coach on Transcon Flights
Delta Air Lines announced plans to offer complimentary meals in its main cabin on select transcon routes.
Beginning in March, the carrier will introduce the free meals on flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and both San Francisco and Los Angeles. In April, Delta will expand the complimentary meal service to other transcon routes, including Boston-San Francisco, Boston-Los Angeles, Boston-Seattle, Washington Reagan-Los Angeles, Seattle-Fort Lauderdale, Seattle-Orlando, Seattle-Raleigh, JFK-Phoenix, JFK-San Diego, and JFK-Seattle.
Meal options will vary based on the time of day, and will include honey maple breakfast sandwich, Luvo breakfast medley, or fruit and cheese plate for breakfast, as well as mesquite-smoked turkey combo, Luvo Mediterranean whole grain veggie wrap, and fruit and cheese plate for lunch-time items.
For passengers on overnight flights, Delta will offer a breakfast bar during the carrier’s pre-arrival beverage service.
Delta said that the menus will be refreshed and updated seasonally.
