Marriott Rewards and SPG Launch Coordinated Bonus Program
Marriott Rewards, Starwood Preferred Guest, and Ritz-Carlton Rewards announced their first coordinated bonus program since the Marriott-Starwood merger, which closed in September.
Members of all three guest loyalty programs will be able to earn double points on their first three stays at participating hotels in each program. This translates to two bonus Starpoints for every dollar spent on a member’s first SPG stays and ten bonus Marriott Rewards points per dollar spent on a member’s first three Marriott or Ritz-Carlton stays (depending on which program the member is enrolled in), although stays at Residence Inns and Townplace Suites will only earn five bonus points per dollar spent.
Registration is required by March 15, 2017 and stays between January 16 and April 15, 2017 will count towards the bonus.
In September, Marriott said it plans to continue to operate both programs – Starwood Preferred Guest, or SPG, and Marriott Rewards – for at least the next two years before it eventually phases out SPG.
