JetBlue Sees Increase in Capacity, Load Factor for October

IMG_8305JetBlue Airways announced operational results for October 2016. The carrier said that its total traffic, capacity, and load factor were all up for the month.

The New York-based airline’s passenger traffic for the month was 3.572 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 6.5% from 3.355 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

The carrier’s capacity also increased, up 5.5% to 4.212 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 3.994 billion ASMs in October 2015.

JetBlue’s passenger load factor for the month was 84.8%, a 0.8 percentage point increase from 84% last October.

The airline said that Hurricane Matthew had a negative impact on its unit revenue for the month by approximately two percentage points. Its preliminary completion factor was 97.7% and its on-time performance was 77%.
