JetBlue Airways announced plans to improve its Mint/Mosaic check-in areas at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

The New York-based airline has temporarily closed its North check-in facility for renovations. When it reopens in December, it will be larger and offer more check-in counters and amenities such as curbside check-in, , and dedicated check-in kiosks for Mint and Mosaic passengers.

During construction, the South Mint/Mosaic check-in will remain open. This area will permanently close, however, once the renovated North Mint/Mosaic check-in has reopened.

Mint was first offered on the nation’s two premium transcontinental routes that link New York City with San Francisco and Los Angeles. Since then, JetBlue has expanded the Mint service to other routes including, on a seasonal basis, New York to Grenada.

Last week, the airline launched Mint on its Boston-Los Angeles route.

The Mint service offers passengers a premium cabin with fully lie-flat seats.  Four seats in the cabin are private suites with doors.  The seats in the private suites are 22” wide and extend into 80”-long beds.  The remaining 12 seats in the Mint cabin are 20.5” wide.
