DSC_0723Pilots at Delta Air Lines, the number two airline in the United States, picketed the company’s Atlanta headquarters Friday to call attention to their higher wages.

The pilots took a 50% pay cut ten years ago when the airline filed for bankruptcy and their union says that they have yet to catch up to where they would have been.

The union representing the airline’s 13,000 pilots, the Airline Pilots Association, said that it planned to resume mediated negotiations with management on Friday.

Delta is not the only airline in this situation: On Wednesday, pilots at Southwest Airlines picketed the carrier at its hometown airport, Dallas Love Field, after four years without a contract.
