Chase Debuts Sapphire Reserve Credit Card
JP Morgan Chase announced the Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card on Tuesday.
The new credit card, launched on the Visa Infinite platform, offers a generous sign-on bonus and a variety of important travel benefits.
The initial sign-on bonus is 100,000 Ultimate Reward Points and is given after meeting an initial spend requirement of $4,000 in the first three months. Cardholders will receive three points for every dollar spent on travel and dining and one point for every dollar spent on other purchases. When traveling or shopping abroad, there are no foreign transaction fees.
In addition, cardholders will receive an annual $300 travel credit that will reimburse any travel purchases including airline tickets and so-called airline nuisance fees such as those for checked bags or ticketing changes. Cardholders will also receive a $100 credit when applying for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck.
Other benefits include access to over 900 airport lounges worldwide via a complimentary Priority Pass Select membership, benefits at Avis, Silvercar, and National Car Rental, and elite benefits at Relais & Châteaux hotels.
The card, which is produced with embedded metal for a hefty feel, carries a $450 annual fee.
