United Airlines Launches Non-Stop San Francisco-Auckland Route

DSC_0283 (1)United Airlines announced the launch of new non-stop service between San Francisco, California, and Auckland, New Zealand. The carrier will operate the route three times days a week, using Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.

Flights will depart San Francisco International Airport at 10:45 p.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and arrive at Auckland International Airport at 6:55 a.m. two days later. Flights from Auckland to San Francisco will depart at 1:20 p.m. on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and arrive at 6:40 a.m. the same day.

United’s 787-8 cabins are configured with 36 lie-flat seats in business class, 70 seats in economy plus, and 113 seats in economy. Business-class seats are 22” wide and have a bed length of 78”.

The new route marks the official start of the carrier’s joint venture revenue sharing agreement with Air New Zealand. The two airlines are both members of Star Alliance.

Air New Zealand currently offers daily service between the two cities.
