Sichuan Airlines Begins Chengdu-Tokyo, Chengdu-Osaka Routes

Sichuan Airlines announced the launch of new service to Chengdu, China from both Tokyo Narita and Osaka, Japan. The carrier will operate both routes using Airbus A330 aircraft.

Flights from Tokyo Narita will depart at 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, arriving at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport at 12:50 a.m. the next day. From Chengdu, flights will depart at 1:20 p.m. and arrive in Tokyo at 7 p.m.

Flights are scheduled to depart Osaka’s Kansai International Airport at 8:25 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and arrive in Chengdu at 12:15 a.m. the next morning. Flights from Chengdu to Osaka will depart at 1:45 p.m. and arrive at 6:55 p.m.

Sichuan Airlines was founded in 1986, and is headquartered in Chengdu. The carrier operates a fleet of 106 Airbus aircraft, and flies mainly domestic routes, although, in addition to the new service to Japan, it offers various select long- and short-haul international routes.
