Marriott announced plans to open a new Renaissance hotel in Manhattan this spring. Located in the Garment District, the Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel will be the brand’s flagship property in New York.

The hotel will have what the brand calls a “living wall,” an interactive digital display on the property’s façade that respond to human motion and features specially curated digital imagery of local artists and neighborhood experiences.

The hotel will have 348 guestrooms, including eight suites, each with floor-to-ceiling windows with abundant natural light, and various suites will have private terraces. An unusual feature is the frosted-glass shower wall that separates the Italian marble bathroom from the rest of the room.

The property’s lobby will be located on the sixth floor, and will contain the Renaissance Navigator, what the brand calls its “lifestyle concierge”, which offers personalized local suggestions to guests. The lobby will also feature a Lobby bar, a hidden DJ booth, and a balcony overlooking the fifth floor.

The hotel’s Club Lounge will also be located on the sixth floor, and will feature modern furniture and wall art. The property will also have an 8,000-square-foot (743-square-meter) outdoor terrace, which will have a retractable roof, private cabanas, and two bars.

The hotel will have 4,500 square feet (418 square meters) of meeting and event space that will be able to accommodate up to 250 guests.
