DSC_0533LaGuardia Airport’s Central Terminal redevelopment project is finally coming to an end.

The first wave of renovations at LaGuardia Airport’s Central Terminal was completed ten months ago and the final wave of the project is nearing completion.

The Central Terminal, also known as Terminal B, is slated for replacement as part of the $4 billion construction project that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced last month but, in the interim, it received upgraded air conditioning, escalators, restrooms, as well as new seating with charging stations in the food courts, as well as a number of new stores and restaurants.

New stores include L’Occitane, Eddie Bauer, Lacoste, and Tumi.  Dining options now include Bowery Bay Tavern, Piccolo Mercato, Six Blocks Bakery, Sorrentine, and Villa Pizza Kitchen.

To celebrate the project’s completion, the airport’s developer, MarketPlace Development, is hosting a grand opening celebration from August 17 through the end of the month.  In addition to food tastings and store discounts, there will be a fashion show on August 21, as well as live music and other special events including product giveaways from the shops.
