IHG Launches Mobile Services Trial and Translator App

InterContinental Hotels Group announced various trial versions of smartphone apps.

Among the services is Mobile Check In and Check Out, which allows a guest to manage his stay from a mobile devices.  Features include confirmation of arrival time in the app and text message notification of when their room is ready.  The offering is currently being rolled out in the Americas region, with plans to be rolled out globally in the future.

Another service, Mobile Folio, allows a guest to view his hotel bill in real time on his mobile device, before receiving the final bill during Mobile Check Out on the IHG app.  Also through the IHG app is the IHG Guest Response service, which lets users make a request to hotel staff.

In addition, IHG Translator App for Apple Watch allows users to speak directly into the watch or choose from a selection of pre-loaded common phrases, and receive translations from English into over 13 different languages.
