Delta Pilots Reach Tentative Labor Agreement with Airline
The union representing pilots at Delta Air Lines said Thursday that its negotiating committee had reached a tentative agreement on new contract terms with the airline.
Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
The tentative deal comes after a year of preparation and negotiations, the Air Line Pilots Association said in a statement. Delta and the union started talks in March of this year. The current contract runs through December 31, 2015.
The next step is for the union’s master executive council to review the proposed contract and approve it. If it is approved there, it will go to the union’s membership for a vote.
Delta has generally good labor relations with its pilots, its only large unionized workgroup, and their current compensation package is considered one of the best in the industry.
