DSC_0423A Washington, D.C. appeals court ruled last Friday that the Federal Aviation Administration did not overstep its authority in allowing passengers to use electronic devices during takeoffs and landings.

The ruling came after the Association of Flight Attendants sued the FAA and Michael Huerta, administrator of the FAA.

The ruling from the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia found that the FAA has always retained the ability to change rules as it sees fit.

The FAA first let the airlines allow passengers to use personal electronic devices during takeoffs and landings in October 2013, and currently 31 airlines are authorized to do so.
