Etihad Airways announced that it plan to deploy Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on its daily service between Washington, D.C. and Abu Dhabi.  The route was first launched in 2013, and was the first ever non-stop between the two cities.

Flights with the Dreamliner will depart Abu Dhabi at 11:30 a.m. and arrive at Washington Dulles International Airport at 6:45 p.m.  From Washington, flights will depart at 10:50 p.m. and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 7:45 p.m. the following day.

The plane is equipped with eight suites in first class, 28 Business Studios, and 199 economy-class seats.  The First Suite offers complete privacy and includes a minibar, while each of the aircraft’s Business Studios have complete aisle access and an 80.5” fully lie-flat bed.

Etihad’s 787-9 airliners sport a new design that the airline is calling “Facets of Abu Dhabi.”   The new look uses a palette that reflects the various colors of the landscape of the United Arab Emirates.  The national emblem of the country is located on the fuselage of the aircraft next to the airline’s name, and the national flag is displayed near the cockpit in the front.
