Hotel 35 Herald Square to Open in Midtown Manhattan
Hotel 35 Herald Square, a new, independent boutique hotel, opened its doors in New York City today. Occupying the site of the former Comfort Inn in on West 35 Street, the hotel will undergo significant renovations starting in January 2015. Renovations are scheduled to be completed by the middle of next year.
The hotel said that the guest room décor will be modern, but did not give specifics. Some of the new restorations will include modern guestroom throw blankets and artwork that will be evident throughout all of the hotel’s 132 guestrooms.
Dating back to 1903, the small building first opened its doors as the Gregorian Hotel. The place originally had high ceilings and a lobby and dining room that were said to attract frequent travelers.
The Midtown Manhattan hotel is located near some of New York City’s biggest attractions, including the Empire State Building, Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, New York Public Library, Morgan Library and Museum Shop, and Bryant Park.
