Starwood announced the opening of the Westin Wilmington in Wilmington, Delaware. The new hotel, located at 818 Shipyard Drive, with views of the Wilmington skyline and the Delaware Valley, is directly connected to the Chase Center on the Riverfront.

The property has 180 rooms and suites, as well as a 24-hour business center. The Westin Wilmington houses five meeting spaces, the largest of which is 1,566 square feet (145 square meters), and together with the Chase Center, the hotel encompasses 92,000 square feet (8,547 square meters) of meeting and event space. The legal center, located in the Chase Center, offers office space and services to legal firms.

The property also has a fitness studio and indoor pool, as well as a full-service restaurant, the River Rock Kitchen, which serves American cuisine.

The revitalized Riverfront district is home to offices of Fortune 500 companies such as JP Morgan Chase, IBM, Bank of America, and Barclays.

Starwood currently operates over 190 Westin properties around the world.
