New Westin Hotel to Open in Cairo, Egypt
Starwood announced it will open a new Westin property in Cairo, Egypt in early 2015. The Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa Katameya Dunes will be situated in the Katameya Dunes development, a 19.3 million-square-foot (1.8 million square-meter) luxury residential compound that will also include a 27-hole golf course.
The hotel will have 127 guestrooms, as well as one presidential suite. Each room will have the brand’s signature Westin Heavenly Beds, which include a pillow-top mattress and goose-down pillows, as well as the Westin Heavenly Bath that includes a custom dual-head shower.
The property will offer guests a choice of four separate dining venues, including a bar and lounge, a café, and an all-day restaurant. A pool, fitness center, spa, ballroom, and 24-hour business center will also be located on the premises.
Starwood currently operates 11 properties in Egypt, and plans to open the St. Regis Cairo in 2015 and the W Cairo in 2016, as well as reopen the Sheraton Cairo Hotel & Casino following an extensive renovation next year.
