WestJet announced it will begin new trans-Atlantic service this summer.  In addition, WestJet and WestJet Encore will begin additional new summer routes, increase frequency on various existing routes, and convert seasonal routes to year-round service.

The Calgary-based carrier said it plans to begin new nonstop service between Toronto and Dublin, Ireland on June 15.  The service will be the airline’s first ever trans-Atlantic route.

WestJet will also begin new nonstop service from Fort McMurray, Alberta, to Las Vegas, and convert its daily Toronto service to year-round service from Alberta.  The carrier will also increase its frequency on its Fort McMurray-Calgary and Fort McMurray-Edmonton routes.

In addition, WestJet Encore will begin new service between Fort McMurray and both Vancouver and Kelowna, B.C.  The carrier will also offer new service between Thunder Bay and both Toronto and Winnipeg.
