Starwood announced the opening of the Sheraton Zurich Hotel in Zurich, Switzerland.  The hotel is the sixth Starwood property to open in the country.

Of the hotel’s 197 guestrooms, 32 are suites.  Each room is designed with a modern interpretation of classic style, and is outfitted with Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Beds.

On the tenth floor of the hotel, the Sheraton Club Lounge offers breakfast, refreshments, and light snacks throughout the day, as well as evening drinks and hors d’oeuvres.  The Lounge also provides complimentary wireless Internet access.

The hotel’s restaurant, Route twenty-six, features local specialties, such as capuns, a traditional Swiss chard-wrapped dish, and züri gschnätzlets, a Zurich dish containing thinly sliced veil cooked in a cream sauce with mushrooms.  In addition, the property houses an Italian bar and café, Nuovo, which offers both take-out and dine-in meals, as well as evening drinks.

The hotel is equipped with over 6,458 square feet (600 square meters) of meeting and event space, including eight meeting rooms and a pre-function area.  The property also has a fitness center open for guests.
