Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group announced it will open a hotel in southwest China in 2016.  The Mandarin Oriental, Chongqing will be part of a mixed-use project that will be comprised of office towers and retail outlets.

The hotel will be located on the top floors of an 813 foot (248 meter) tower, and will have 231 rooms, including 25 suites and 18 serviced apartments.  Each room will be designed in a contemporary style, and guests will have access to an executive club lounge.

The hotel will have five restaurants and bars, including an all-day dining venue, a Chinese restaurant, a lobby lounge, a rooftop terrace and bar, and a signature Mandarin Oriental Cake Shop.  In addition to the restaurants, the hotel will also have a 12,916 square foot (1,200 square meter) grand ballroom and other various meeting and event spaces.

Guests will be able to use the Spa at Mandarin Oriental, which will include eight treatment rooms.  The hotel will also have fitness facilities and a heated indoor pool.
