JAL Announces Fall and Winter Schedule Changes, New 787 and 777 Routes

Japan Airlines announced changes to its schedule for the upcoming fall and winter seasons.  In addition, the airline also said it will begin to use Dreamliners and 777-200s on some existing routes.

The carrier will be increasing its flights from Tokyo Haneda to Osaka (from 15 to 16 daily round trip flights), Sapporo (from 16 to 17 daily round trip flights), and Izumo (from five to six daily round trip flights).  These increases will take effect beginning October 27, 2013, and will continue through March 29 of next year.

From November 25 through December 8, the airline will also decrease its frequencies between Tokyo Narita and Beijing, from 14 to seven weekly round trip flights.

Beginning December 1, the airline will be introducing Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft on its Tokyo Narita-Sydney route, as well as on its Tokyo Narita-Bangkok route on December 2.  The carrier will also be switching from Boeing 767-300ER to 777-200ER aircraft, equipped with JAL shell flat seats, on its Tokyo Haneda-Bangkok route, beginning December 1 of this year.

The airline will also be expanding its JAL Sky Suite 777 on its Boeing 777-300ERs to its Tokyo Narita-Los Angeles flights starting in November 2013, and Tokyo Narita-Chicago flights starting in January 2014.  In addition, JAL  will also be introducing the Sky Suite 767 on its Boeing 767-300ER aircraft to its Tokyo Narita-Vancouver and Tokyo Narita-Kuala Lumpur routes, beginning in December 2013 and January 2014, respectively.
