United Airlines announced that it will offer subscription options for passengers that give them access to Economy Plus seating and/or pre-paid checked baggage charges for one year.  In addition, the airline said that customers can now use their MileagePlus miles to purchase an annual United Club membership.

Customers can purchase access to Economy Plus for a year starting at $499, and can select the region and number of travelers on their subscription.  Passengers traveling in Economy Plus seats have additional legroom although the seats themselves are the same as in coach.

Customers can also purchase checked baggage subscriptions starting at $349.  These subscriptions can be customized to include number of travelers, preferred geographic region, and number of bags up to two.

In addition, MileagePlus members can use their miles to purchase an annual United Club membership.  Memberships offer access at 49 United Club locations, and start at $500, or 65,000 miles for general MileagePlus members, with discounts for Premier members.
