Westin to Open Eleven New Hotels in 2013

Starwood Hotels & Resorts announced that it will open 11 new Westin-branded hotels this year.  A majority of the properties will be located outside of the U.S., in countries such as China, India, Singapore, and Panama.

Hotels opening in China include the Westin Haikou, the Westin Sanya Haitang Bay Resort, the Westin Chongqing Liberation Square, and the Westin Qingdao.  In India, one new property, the Westin Chennai Velachery, will open this year, as will one in Singapore, the Westin Singapore Marina Bay.

There will also be four new Westin hotels opening in North America.  In California and Texas, the Westin Sacramento and the Westin Houston Downtown will open following renovations, while the Westin Birmingham will open in Alabama, also following renovations.  Also opening later this year is the Westin San Jose in Panama, which will debut after undergoing renovations as well.  With the eleven new properties, Westin will have reached a milestone of 200 hotels.
