BMW announced that it will expand its partnership with Fairmont to provide a 7 Series sedan for use in complimentary local shuttle service at all U.S. Fairmont hotels.  The program, an extension of a program originally launched in Canada in 2009 and that already includes all Canadian Fairmont locations, will use BMW’s 750i sedan, and be offered to Fairmont President’s Club members.

In Canada, the program features the BMW 7 Series sedan, as well as the BMW X5.   Fairmont President’s Club members can use the shuttle service to reach nearby local destinations, such as museums, golf courses, convention centers, restaurants, malls, and other business- and leisure-related destinations.

The BMW 7 Series sedan, first introduced in 1977, is the Bavarian automaker’s flagship vehicle.  Now in its fifth generation, it is available with a variety of powertrains including a mild hybrid version.  The BMW X5, which BMW brands as a Sport Activity Vehicle, made its debut in 1999.   Fairmont hotels in Canada have the X5 xDrive35d, the diesel version of the X5 in their shuttle fleet.  The BMW X5 diesel was named the 2012 Diesel Car of the Year by Frequent Business Traveler’s sister publication, The Diesel Driver.
